Abstract
Harold Wells has, in so many wonderful ways, embodied the grace ofthe gospel: the love and freedom flowing from the heart ofour God who seeks to liberate and to renew the whole ofcreation. His career as a teacher, a minister and a teacher ofministers has made a significant and lasting impact on The United Church of Canada and on the wider ecumenical and theological world. As a theologian, and as a servant ofChrist in and for the Church, Professor Wells has been gracefully gifted with the charism of peace-making and peace-giving. As a scholar, his knowledge of historical and contextual theology is of considerable depth and breadth.Yet his work as an author and preacher is intimate and accessible for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear.
