Forty-Five Years of Industrial Policy in Italy: Protagonists, Objectives and Instruments

Abstract

Limiting the detailed analysis of almost half a century of industrial policy to a few pages is an impossible task, and it is not our purpose to attempt the impossible. It is considered more useful and feasible to highlight a few of the specific points of interest in postwar industrial policy in Italy. Our objective, therefore, will be as follows: though less than systematic, the observations herein will seek to identify the themes underlying the Government and the regulatory action of industry in Italy.
