Abstract
The present paper analyzes the possible role of covert impulse and emotional responses in mediating consummatory stimulus-response sequences. The hypothesis forwarded is that this mediational role can develop under certain conditions in which consummatory stimulus-response sequences are blocked by inhibiting setting factors.
