Abstract

ABSTRACTColloidal dispersions are encountered during the processing of chemicals and materials in a number of contexts, generally requiring control of macroscopic properties such as the phase behavior and rheology through the manipulation of the chemistry. This paper surveys several applications, including the fabrication of advanced ceramics and the formulation of coatings, and attempts to identify the limiting science in each case.
