Abstract
The present investigation was aimed to formulate and evaluate film forming gel of Mometasone furoate by dispersion method with HPMC E15, Carbomer 934 and propylene glycol to increase the drug penetration through the skin. The gelling agent was dispersed in solvent with stirring at 1200 RPM for 30mins. Drug was dissolved in non aqueous solvent followed by addition of preservative and flavouring agent. The prepared formulation was evaluated for invitro diffusion study release, spreadability etc. All formulation showed drug release from 51.79% to 97.89%, good homogeneity and gel was easily spreadable. Optimized formulation showed enhanced rate of diffusion, drug release and was found suitable for sustained release with good stability.
