Abstract
The prepared tablets met the compendia limits in termsof physiochemical parameters and dissolution studies. The mixture of 30 mg pectin and 30 mg of xanthan gum as matrix and 10% w/v of Eudragit RS100 solution as coating material werebest suitable in colon targeteddrug delivery system to provide optimum prednisolone release and protect it from SGF andSIF. As a result, colon delivery of prednisolone appeared to be apromising alternative to its traditional oral formulation.
