Abstract

We have carried out 115 In nuclear quadrupole resonance measurements on CeCoIn 5 under high pressure P. The temperature T dependence of the nuclear spin–lattice relaxation rate 1/ T 1 in the normal state, 1/ T 1∝ T 1/4, indicates that CeCoIn 5 is located just at an antiferromagnetic (AF) instability at ambient pressure. The value of 1/ T 1 decreases rapidly with increasing P, reflecting that P moves CeCoIn 5 away from the AF instability.
