Abstract

In Brazil, intellectual property is entitled to protect its creator with the fulfillment of its requirements. When it comes to furniture design, there is disagreement about the best form of protection, considering all possible forms of intellectual property protection, since each institute has its own implications. This investigation deals with the possibility of the current national legislation protecting, in its entirety, all artifacts developed by its creator. By reviewing the literature, common and conflicting points between both forms were established, even opening up the questioning for simultaneous protection. Bibliographies specialized in the subject and jurisprudence were analyzed to stablish how the subject is analyzed in the theoretical and practical field.
