Abstract

The sedimentary cover thickness in the Dnieper Donets rift basin reaches 19 km. During the rifting in the Late Devonian huge masses of salt were accumulated. In stratal occurence its thickness is to 1 km and more, in stocks up to 15 km. Regional multichannel reflection seismic investigations in the DDD allowed to determine geological structure for a number of local structures and salt stocks along the entire depth of the sedimentary cover. It enabled to study the regularities of their forming and the relation between structure forming processes and the tectonic evolution of the overall basin.
