Abstract

The possibility of making a dressing tool for forming a grinding wheel has been pursued as an applied example of diamond coating. A new attempt has been made to form multilayered brazed polycrystalline diamond films into a substantially large and thick laminated diamond bulk. Furthermore, this laminated diamond film has been subjected to a performance test wherein a practical form-dressing tool was made and used to form a white alundum (WA) wheelstone. As a result, the above-mentioned dressing tool made from the laminated diamond film has proved to perform adequately for practical use.
