Abstract

The process of nanostructuring of a copper specimen in a friction pair with tool steel is studied. Diffraction analysis of the nanocrystalline layer formed due to friction on the surface of the specimen is performed. The mechanism of straining of the layer is associated with flow of viscous Newtonian fluid or of granulated medium.
