Abstract

1. Formation of e-phase under isothermal conditions leads to a change in the ratio of phases and correspondingly the mechanical properties of steel G22. The latter develops particularly after thermal cycling treatment. 2. The possibility is demonstrated of repeated restoration of the capacity of austenite in steel G22 to undergo isothermal γ → e-transformation after hardening or stabilizing thermal cycling treatment by the scheme 400 ⇆ 20°C. 3. The combination of cold plastic deformation with intermediate heating which provides e → γ-transformation make it possible to obtain high total deformation which may be used in shaping operations.
