Abstract

IT has been found that in the radiolysis of moist uranyl nitrate methyl isobutyl ketone solutions saturated with oxygen a yellow insoluble substance is formed. This remains clinging to the walls of the irradiation vessel. According to the weight analysis of the precipitate the most suitable formula appears to be UO4.4H2O.
