Abstract

The formation of low-valence palladium species Pd n 2+ (n ≥ 2) in the course of oxidation of aliphatic C1-C4 alcohols with oxygen in the presence of palladium(II) tetraaqua complex in aqueous solution was proved UV-spectrophotometrically by the absorption band with a maximum at 312 or 316 nm depending on particular alcohol.
