Abstract
Abstract Sodium doped ZrO2 was studied as the methane activation catalyst and found to be highly active at low temperature giving C3 hydrocarbons as main products. Among the catalysts tested, 4.3 mol% Na+ doped ZrO2 showed the best conversion (18.2%) and selectivity (59.0%) for the formation of C2 and C3 hydrocarbons at 873 K; the yield of C3 was 7.5% with ratio 3.3 of propane/propene.
