Abstract

By a laser ablation method, the [0 0 1]-oriented Bi 2Sr 2Ca 1− x Y x Cu 2O y buffer layer was formed on the SrTiO 3. The optimum oxygen pressure during ablation was found to be 0.3 Pa. The Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O y film was formed on the Bi 2Sr 2Ca 1− x Y x Cu 2O y buffer. The Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O y film on the Bi 2Sr 2Ca 1− x Y x Cu 2O y buffer had smaller c-axis length and larger full width at half maximum of the (0 0 1) peak than that on the SrTiO 3 did, suggesting that the Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O y is mixed with the Bi 2Sr 2Ca 1− x Y x Cu 2O y buffer and a gradient buffer is formed.
