Abstract
Fischer carbenes – a new angle: The insertion of carbon monoxide into an SiC bond of the FeII complex 1, which contains a tripodal thiolato ligand (see scheme), yields the Fischer carbene–thiolato complex 2, whose molecular structure reveals the presence of a bonding interaction between the carbene carbon atom and the thiolato sulfur atoms.
