Abstract

The microstructures of liquid phase sintered 93W-7(Ni/Fe/Co) tungsten-base alloys in the as-sintered and extruded conditions were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. It was found that there exists an amorphous phase in the extruded rods. A reasonable mechanism for the formation of this metastable phase is described.
