Abstract

Several kinds of compounds were formed by Fusarium merismoides Bll when the fungus was grown in the medium containing 2-butyne-1,4-diol as the sole source of carbon. Four of these compounds were isolated by thin-layer chromatography and identified as acetylene dicarboxylic acid, an ester of acetylene dicarboxylic acid with 2-butyne-1,4-diol, an acetylated derivative of the ester, and cis-aconitic acid.
