Abstract
Photoinduced charge separation (CS) and charge recombination (CR) reactions in the singlet excited state of porphyrin (P) attached to two methylviologens (MV2+) by flexible chains have been studied in dimethylsulphoxide and methanol-acetone mixture by means of picosecond and nanosecond laser photolysis methods. An extremely slow CR rate compared to the CS rate has been observed.
