Abstract

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Tikhonovich Velichkovsky (October 6, 1923 — September 17, 2020) holds a special place among scientists of occupational pathologists and hygienists — Soviet and Russian scientist-hygienist, health organizer, full member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1988), Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, RAS (2013). Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor B. T. Velichkovsky was born in 1923 in the city of Orel, moved with his parents to Sverdlovsk. In August 1941, he volunteered for the army and was sent to the school of second lieutenants of infantry in Novosibirsk, but did not pass the mandatory commission. As a member of the construction company, he worked on In the Urals, he worked as a miner at the Degtyarsky copper mine and, after a spinal injury, as a grinder at the tool shop of the OCM plant in the city of Revda.
