Abstract

[60]Fullerene is produced by pyrolysis of corannulene between 650 and 1200 °C, (either with or without the presence of Pd/C or Co catalysts), 7, 10- bis(2,2′-dibromovinyl)fluoranthene (a corannulene precursor) at 700 °C, and of 11, 12-benzofluoranthene at 900–1000 °C.
