Formation and characterization of simple, stable, coordinated water complexes of rhodiumand iridium. The crystal structure of trans-[Rh(PPh 3) 2(CO)(H 3O] +CF 3SO 3−

Abstract

Reaction of trans-(Ph 3P) 2Rh(CO)(OSO 2CF 3) and trans-(Ph 3P) 2Ir(CO)(OSO 2CF 3) with water in benzene results in the formation of stable trans-[(Ph 3P) 2Rh(CO)(H 2O)] +CF 3SO − 3 and trans-[(Ph 3P) 3Ir(CO)(H 2)(H 2O)] +CF 3SO 3 −, respectively. The crystal structure of the Rh-complex is reported.
