Abstract

Women represent on average 43% of the agricultural workforce in developing countries. In most developing regions, agriculture is the main source of income for rural women. However, they usually earn less than men and have less job stability. The purpose of this research is to identify the types of violence that occur in the banana sector and the role of the State in preventing, punishing and repairing the rights of women in this sector. The methodology used is quantitative and qualitative research through survey analysis. Conclusion The factor that contributes to the low participation of women in the banana industry is the way in which tasks are organized and women are mostly limited to work at the packing plant.
