AbstractThe stereoselective formal synthesis of (−)‐cyclaradine from the inexpensively available starting material L‐glutamic acid is described, using Eschenmoser's reagent, and applying Luche reduction, Grignard reaction, and ring closing metathesis (RCM) as the key steps.
