Abstract
A tailor welded blanks (TWBs) are formed when sheets of several grades, various thicknesses and different coatings are joined by welding process, which are used to improve safety features, fuel consumption, crashworthiness, and weight reduction. TWB sheets are extensively used in auto-body design. The use of TWB in the body structure can significantly reduce the weight of the vehicle, thereby reducing material waste in the workshop, which also results in the reduction of the energy utilization during manufacturing. With this review paper, we highlight and focus the recent advances in the field of Tailor Welded Blanks which are investigated and analysed by researchers mathematically and numerically and found good agreement with the results.
