Abstract

The isoscalar charge, axial vector and isovector magnetic form factors have been calculated in the hybrid chiral soliton model with massless pions with and without continuous baryon density. The results serve to bridge the gap between conventional chiral bag calculations and the results for a pure skyrmion. Furthermore, despite the appearance of unphysical diffraction minima in both cases, there is overall better agreement with the experimental dipole fit than was the case for the pure skyrmion with pions only. Our results support the introduction of quarks but suggest that a chiral bag with sharp radius is too simplistic an assumption.
