Abstract

The composite relativistic O(4.2) model of baryons and mesons that gives correct electromagnetic form factors and mass spectra is extended to weak currents. It is then possible to calculate the corrections due to mass differences and due to form factors in weak decays. These corrections can amount to as much as 20%. An internal symmetry cannot hold to a better accuracy than this in the framework of a dynamical group. It is shown that when these corrections are incorporated into the Lee-Sugawara triangle, the experimental ambiguity in the s- and p-wave decay amplitudes of Σ O + cannot be removed on theoretical grounds.
