Abstract
ABSTRACT This year marks forty years of 1984 anti-Sikh violence in India. Though the magnitude of killings was enormous in Delhi, however, other regions were also not left untouched. This paper aims to bring recognition of the heinous crime committed against Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir. It examines violence against the Sikhs in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir specifically focusing on three major incidents- 1984 in Srinagar in Kashmir and Talwara in Jammu, followed by attack on Sikh religious procession in 1989 in Jammu city. This research maps the unseen and untold history of Sikhs living on the margins.
