Abstract

The Forest Inventory and Analysis (Forest Survey) Research Work Unit at the Southeastern Forest Experiment Station recently conducted a review of its data processing procedures. During this process, a computer error was discovered which led to inflated estimates of annual removals, net annual growth, and annual mortality for the 1970-1980 remeasurement period in Florida. Even though more recent data on current levels of removals, growth, and mortality have been published and are accurate, the inflated values for the earlier period distort some estimates of trends. The following revised highlights contain corrected statements about changes in net annual growth, annual timber removals, and annual mortality.
