Abstract

Nursing shortage is a wordwide problem whose roots are deeply integrated and could be recoonducted to: -aged nursing population -decreased nursing university registration -changes in working settings -poor social nursing image and consideration. Nursing migration is generally motivated by professional development, better life condition and personal security. There are and countries. This phenomen is present in Italy since some year, too. In 2007–2010 there was a real boom of foreigner nursing inpact up to 25%: In 2010 the total number of Nursing Council (IPASVI) registration was of 375.185, of whom 77% women, and 10% foreigner. Since 2001, 30 foreign nurses had been working in our unit, coming from six different countries, the larger group from Romania.
