Indonesia is a country that has abundant natural resources. One of the natural resources in Indonesia is intended for marine tourism. One area of marine tourism destination in Lampung is the Pesisir Barat Regency. Some research shows that foreign tourists fond of marine tourism. The increase in foreign tourist arrivals has an impact on faith. To determine the magnitude of the impact, research is needed. The method used in this research was mixed-method with qualitative and quantitative data. The instruments used were need analysis instruments and observation instruments. The results showed that foreign activities and culture did not have a significant impact on the faith and local wisdom of the Pesisir Barat community. Besides, there was a high readiness from the Pesisir Barat community to face the increasing foreign tourists’ visits which was strengthened by socialization and character education from the government. The inhibiting factors in implementing character education can be overcome properly. To continue to preserve community faith and local wisdom, the role and interest of local youth are urgently needed, therefore the local government needs to pay special attention to youth to be actively involved in preserving local wisdom (customs and culture). Because this research focused on seeing the impact of tourist visits on local wisdom and faith in Pesisir Barat communities and analyzing the supporting factors, it is hoped that further research can provide treatment to strengthen local wisdom for the Communities of Pesisir Barat.
