Abstract

The present state of physical education in higher education institutions of Ukraine has been analyzed. Examples of optimal forms of physical education organization have been presented in the light of the reform of higher education in Ukraine. The content of the main legal documents defining the vector of the state policy of Ukraine on the way of integration into the European educational space, which determines the need for mo­ dernization of physical education, has been analyzed. Objective. To study the experience of organizing physical education in countries with high level of the population involvement in motor activity. Methods. Analysis and ge­ neralization of data of scientific and methodical literature. Results. It has been established that any changes in the process of physical education in educational institutions should be based on objective scientific data with account for the experience of leading countries in the organization of student youth to practicing motor activity. Today, one of the most successful is the experience of the United States of America in attracting students to physical culture and health related, and especially to sports activities. The priority orientation of the process of physical education of students in the United States can be judged from its organizational structure, which indicates a clear separation of sessions aimed at improving the athletic skill and those of health-related direction. One of the positive features of physical education process in Australia is the use of a wide range of health related fitness means during the organization of sessions, which induce steady interest not only among students, but also contribute to the involvement of other categories of people. Types of motor activity of traditional orientation are cultivated in Asian countries, in particular in Japan and China. Studying the peculiarities of physical education system functioning in foreign countries will enable to enrich and improve the national experience and create a practical basis for the study, analysis and implementation of the leading achievements in the system of student youth physical education in Ukraine
