Abstract

The present study examines the publication pattern of foreign authors contributing in Indian LIS journals and indexed by Indian Citation Index (ICI). The aim of the study is to find out the trend towards global visibility and acceptance of Indian LIS journals among academicians, professionals, scholars in LIS field from different countries of the world. During 2004 to 2016, foreign affiliated authors’ from 57 countries contributed total 445 articles which shared 13.01% of total articles published. CJSIM has identified as the most preferred Indian journal. Authors from Nigeria published maximum research articles in Indian LIS journals. The study reveals that there is a prime need to give more emphasis on international collaboration by Indian authors to attract foreign authors in collaborative research. This will not only enhance the quality of LIS research but also increase the global visibility of Indian LIS journals.
