Abstract

The objectives of developing Soviet commerce and the production of popular-consumption goods require a search for scientifically sound ways to forecast the demand for different types of goods. A determination of the demand for non-food goods [neprodovol'stvennye tovary] requires — in addition to an investigation of the selection structure of the demand for one or another group of goods and the customers' requirements as to their consumer properties (quality, exterior, design, color, etc.) - an estimate of the volume of demand for separate aggregate groups of goods.
