Abstract

Internet has become vital part of everyone’s life. This is very true with students as they must be susceptible to the internet usage for effective learning. Our study focuses on use of the internet by students according to academic perspective. The objective is to predict most affecting variables which deal with the causes and reasons of possible restriction on usage of the internet by students. The study has deployed artificial neural network (ANN) model for taking anticipatory measures for predicting use of the internet. The Levenberg - Marquardt Back Propagation method was performed for training data with three layers with five algorithms of NN are simulated and compared the results. Optimal artificial neural network model is proposed as a final outcome. Experimentation was carried out in R software.
