Forecasting for Machine Tool Sales Based on Grey Linear Regression Model

Abstract

The correctly machine tool sales forecast can occupy a favorable position in the unpredictably market. The grey theory is mainly applied to single exponential growth of data sequence, as well as the linear regression model needs to collect a large quantity of data. For these problems, this paper puts forward the grey linear regression model to predict the machine tool sales and result is calculated by using Matlab programming. Matlab is software which can carry out numerical calculation. The feasibility of this combination model is verified through the example. It can obtain higher prediction accuracy by collecting relative little data. The combination model has a lot of advantages in the machine tool sales forecast.
