Abstract

The present development of the economics of higher education is devoted to the elaboration of the following problems: the formation of the aggregate of research methods; determination of rational size and structure of higher-education institutions; determination of the optimal size of teaching staffs; investigation of the effectiveness of various forms of education in higher -education institutions and their optimal proportions; investigation of the scientific potential of higher-education institutions, of norms for allocations, for the material and technological foundation of higher-education institutions and the system for the organization of science in higher education; the forecasting and planning of the training of specialists with higher education and increased effectiveness in their use; forecasting, planning, and the effectiveness of scientific research in higher-education institutions.
