Abstract

This text is part of the research process that was carried out for the Master's Thesis in Higher Education at the Santiago de Cali University, entitled Specific Contributions of Virtual Environments in the Teaching-LearningProcesses in University Settings. It was intended to establish an overview of the current context in which the University operates as an institution, and the global trends that economic models involve as part of educationalprocesses. As a documentary research, a bibliographic review of different authors in pedagogy was made, in order to carry out an analysis of the articulations between these forms of work organization, the changes in the predominant pedagogical models in society during different times, and the current situation of the quality ofhigher education in Colombia. As a central idea, it was found that the apparent overcoming of pedagogical modelsbased on a Fordist-behaviorist concept of education, beyond signifying an evolution in training processes, became a way of reorganizing university models to train better adapted professionals to the new post-Fordist-neo-Fordist industrial systems, and less interested in proposing social changes or reflections on fairer, more humane economic-industrial models.
