Abstract

The presence of defects or impurities in ferromagnetic nanodisks may profoundly affect the structure and dynamics of stable vortex-like magnetization. Here, we use Monte Carlo and spin dynamics techniques for investigating how a minor defect like a magnetic dot interacts with the antiferromagnetic (AFM) vortex core. We have found that an individual ferromagnetic (antiferromagnetic) circular defect induces a potential that attracts (repels) the AFM vortex core.
