Abstract

Physical measurements are known to be disturbed by the so-called “back action” phenomenon. In the present note, this problem of “back action” is exempli ed by the case of a simple electromechanical sensor, and an observer-based solution is proposed as an alternative to the ltering approaches more commonly investigated in that eld. In particular a high-gain-like design is provided on the basis of (Besançon, 2003). The successful results of the method are illustrated in a realistic simulation con guration, giving a nice example of the good performances which can be obtained with high gain techniques in a noisy context.
