Abstract

We derive a general expression for the coefficient of self-diffusion in terms of the force auto-correlation function. The advantage of this representation over the usual velocity auto-correlation function representation in carrying out predictive studies is pointed out and an illustrative calculation is given for liquid argon at 130K.
