Abstract

AbstractFor certain angles between an applied magnetic field and the optical axis of a crystal, magnetic dipolar transitions ΔM = 2; Δm = 0, ± 1 (M and m: electronic and nuclear azimuthal quantum numbers) can be induced by an axial crystal field, including hyperfine interaction. We calculate the corresponding oscillator strengths for a level with effective spin S (2 S + 1 odd). These results can be applied to paramagnetic resonance near g = 4 of Mn++ in wurtzite.
