Abstract
The infra-red spectra of 78 double salts of which 64 are Tutton's salts have been investigated in the region 2000–40 cm−1, and are considered in terms of the site group and factor group approximations. The magnitude of the deviations from the free-ion selection rules is not related to any structural parameter.
