Abstract

Quantitative comparisons between observed and theoretical wavelengths and intensity ratios are made to confirm the identification of some emission lines observed in the spectra of Na- and Mg-like ions as electric quadrupole (E2) transitions. The transition rates of these lines connecting D symmetry levels and the ground level are calculated using the multi-configuration Hartree-Fock (MCHF) wavefunctions.
