Abstract

In recent decades, China scholars in various academic disciplines have expressed strong interest in the human body, examining it as a site that represents social values and shapes cultural meaning. This essay intends to join these scholarly efforts and explore how the religious body was constructed to promote education in the imperial laws of early Ming Dynasty China (1368–1644).
