Abstract
The difficulties of funding digitalization in long-term care according to the German Social Security Code XI (SGBXI) lie in the tasks of providing care, which at the core remain personnel-related. Areduction in personnel or an increase in production revenues, which is the goal of commercial enterprises through digitalization, is only possible in afew fields in the current regulatory framework for care services. Economic effects are lacking both from the point of view of the companies and from the point of view of the community of solidarity. Only through the transformation of long-term care toward collaborative production in local networks will digitalization attain greater significance and generate added value.
