Abstract

SUMMARYRich, P. V., and R. H. Green. 1974. Footprints of birds at South MT Cameron. Tasmania. Emu 74; 245–248.During 1962, sluicing operations in a pit of the old Endurance Tin Mine in north-eastern Tasmania exposed a number of tracks, probably mid-Tertiary in age, that apparently represent large birds, members of the Australian endemic family Dromornithidae. The group, well known in sediments from mid to late Tertiary and Pleistocene in age, was previously represented only by osteological and possibly oological remains.
