Abstract

Foodborne disease remains one crucial problem and threat of public health in China. Chinese government has adopted the report system dealing with foodborne disease for many years and taken the foodborne disease into the national emergency management of public health and disease. According to the statistics of food poisoning reports issued by National Health and Family Planing Commission of the People’s Republic of China and the relevant literature material, the paper analysed the incident of food poisoning in China in recent years. The result shows that the number of the incidents of food poisoning, the number of people of food poisoning, and the death toll caused by food poisoning have decreasing trend and low volatility and remain contained. Based on the data analysis and the current food safety management system in China, the paper put forward several suggestions for the repeated incidents of food poisoning in China.
