Abstract

The fact is generally familiar to those concerned with public health matters that Massachusetts was the pioneer in establishing, some twenty years ago, a practical system of food and drug inspection. It is also universally recognized that the Massachusetts State Board of Health has in various ways given a powerful impetus to sanitary work of all kinds.
